Where are you from originally?
I am from Pittsburgh.

How did you get involved with Gallagher?
I was laid off from my previous job at Loving Care Agency. I was a staffing coordinator there. Then I got a job at Gallagher!

What did you want to be when you grew up?
I didn’t know!

Where did you go to school? What did you study?
I went to South Hills Beauty Academy for cosmetology.

What’s your favorite part of working at Gallagher?
It’s definitely the people. Where I used to work, as soon as I walked in the door I was afraid someone was going to scream. It was a very hostile and stressful environment. But here at Gallagher, everyone is so friendly and nice – much less angry.

Previous work history?
I used to work as a cosmetologist and my specialty was nails. However, I started to develop carpal tunnel and had a blocked nerve in my elbow, so it was time to move on from that career. I worked for three years in St. Louis at Express Scripts, which is a company that deals with specialty medications.

What do you do in your spare time?
I love to read! I’ll read anything. I also love to go boating and jet skiing. We have a cottage up north on the Allegheny River, and it’s my little getaway place come spring and summer. The nearest store is 30 minutes away, so you really have to want something to go get it.

I also spend time with my husband Jeff, 22 year-old daughter Kayleigh, 19 year-old son Max, and eight year-old daughter Bethany. We have two pets as well – a dog named Laya and a black cat named Jinx.

What’s your favorite color, band, movie, and TV show?
Green, anything country, “Robin Hood,” and “NCIS.”

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Chips and dip.

Where do you see yourself in five years?
Everything for me is short term after I got laid off. It really makes you just focus on one day at a time. I can’t really think ahead. I guess I’d like to be employed and stable, but who knows!

If you were suddenly made president of the world, what would your first change be?
I would give everyone the freedom to be who they want to be! No more prejudice against others.

What three items would you take with you on a desert island?
Books, my family, and a way to communicate with someone so I could get off the island.
